This cute little character known as Strawberry Shortcake is from Strawberryland and over the years has featured on everything including toys, accessories and household products.

The original collection of dolls were produced by Kenner Products and were first introduced in the 1980's. They were known as Strawberry Shortcake, Huckleberry Pie, Blueberry Muffin and Apple Dumplin' and then Apricot, Lemon Meringue, Orange Blossom, Raspberry Tart came along to extend the collection of Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

These little dolls appealed to millions of children worldwide and a later edition developed to include the dolls with pets. They included Strawberry Shortcake and Custart the Cat, Huckleberry Pie with Pupcake the dog, Apple Dumplin' with Tea Time Turtle, Apricot with Hopsalot Bunny, Blueberry Muffin with Cheesecake the Mouse, Lemon Meringue with Frappe the frog, Orange Blossom with Marmalade the butterfly, Raspberry Tart wth Rhubard the monkey and the villain Purple Pieman with Berry Bird. Of course, other dolls and pets were also added to the collection of Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

In 1991, another company continued to produce the Strawberry Shortcake dolls which were a little different in appearance. Strawberry Shortcake dolls are especially popular with toy collectors and the original owners of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls.
